The Hotel El Pionero is an Old-English style mansión built during the times of the Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego. It is located in the town of Cerro Castillo, near the Rio Don Guillermo border crossing to Argentina, 284 km from El Calafate, 61 km from Puerto Natales and 60 km from the Torres del Paine Park. It provides a place to relax during your journey through Patagonia. The Hosteria is easily accessed, as the regular buses to the Park and El Calafate pass through Cerro Castillo.

Cerro Castillo is a quiet, historic town, and a  prime location as a rest stop of tourist flow into the park. Here you will be able to participate  intraditional festivals, horse riding endurance competitions and displays of horsemanship. We suggest you visit the typical Estancias of the region and take the opportunity the enjoy hiking and horse riding excursions. Our staff can provide you with all the information you will need. 

The Hotel has 9 guest rooms in the main house (all with private bathroom) and 7 guest rooms (all with private bathroom) in our annex. The Hosteria has a large and confortable lounge with fireplace, Restaurant, Bar and a Quincho where guests can enjoy an exquisite tradicional Patagonian barbecue.
